We provide a range of online services to help you manage your health. We encourage patients to use our online services wherever possible as they help free up the GPs and receptionists to care for those that need it most.
Which online service to use?
There are different online services for different tasks.
Your NHS account or NHS App
Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app) to:
- Order a repeat prescription
- Get your test results
- View your medical record – from 1st November 2023 – see Online Medical Record below
- Cancel an appointment
To register for your NHS account or NHS App, go to NHS App and for help, go to NHS App Help.
As part of the process, you will be asked to provide ID online. For help, go to NHS App online ID.
If the online check does not work, you can request online details from us. We will ask you some questions and then provide you with log in details. Find out more at NHS App offline ID.
Engage Consult
Use your Engage Consult account on the Engage Consult website or NHS App ‘ask your GP for advice’ to:
- Ask a question
- Complete an online form to ask about a non-urgent medical problem
- Get information on self-care and community services
- Ask an admin question
To register for Engage Consult, go to Engage Consult.
Useful information when using Engage Consult:
- Engage Consult should not be used for any medical problem that you think is an emergency, including a worsening infection.
- Not all conditions can be reviewed online. Follow this link to see the list of conditions you can get help with through Engage Consult.
- Response times: if we receive your request before 12:30pm on one of our working days, we will usually respond on the same day. Sometimes demand may mean this takes longer. If we receive your request after 12:30pm, we aim to respond the next working day.
- Opening times: Engage Consult is open Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 6:30pm; and Friday 8:00am to 12.30pm. Note: this is a change to the original service and is line with Local Medical Council (LMC) advice to match Engage Consult with your opening hours. The exception is Friday where we close at 12.30pm to enable the clinicians to respond the same day (subject to demand).
- Engage Consult should not be used for repeat prescription requests. Use the NHS App or Patient Access instead.
- Your doctor may ask you to send a photograph to help assess your medical condition. You can upload photographs in Engage Consult. Please do not send any intimate images or photos of children which could potentially be considered as indecent. Digital images submitted as part of an online consultation will be stored with your clinical notes.

Patient Access
The NHS App is the best way to access online services but the previous provider, Patient Access, is still available if you prefer. Use your Patient Access account (on the Patient Access website or in the Patient Access app) to:
- Order a repeat prescription
- Get your test results
- View your medical record – from 1st November 2023

Online appointments
We provide online appointments for set clinics e.g. flu vaccines. When we have a clinic running, you will receive a text message inviting you to book an appointment. Click on the list in the text message and you will see a list of appointments you can book.
Online medical record
You can now go online and see information recorded in your GP record from 1st November 2023 including:
- Allergies and adverse reactions
- Medicines
- Immunisations
- Health conditions
- Test results
- Consultation and events
- Documents
We, as your surgery, have a responsibility to look after your GP records. You must also take care online and make sure that your personal information is not seen by anyone who should not see it. Please read and follow these online medical record rules.
If you wish to have access to your medical records taken before 1st November 2023 you will need to apply to the Practice for this. This is a lengthy process that requires a GP to read your record fully so there is likely to be a wait.
Accessing someone else’s information
As a parent, family member or carer, you may be able to access services for someone else. We call this having proxy access. We can set this up for you.
To request proxy access:
- fill in our Online Access to Health Records Form and bring to reception. You will need to bring in 2 forms of ID, one photographic and one with your address on. Alternatively, we can vouch for you by asking questions from your medical record.
- If the patient is not present, we will contact them to check they are happy to give consent.
- Children aged 11 and above are assumed under IGPR law to have capacity. When your child turns 11, your proxy access will automatically cease. If you wish to have proxy access for your child aged 11-16 years, you will need their consent using the form above.

Linked profiles in your NHS account
Once proxy access is set up, you can access the other person’s profile in your NHS account, using the NHS App or website.
