Appointments

appointment_1

Patients may book to see any of the doctors in the practice. We operate a system which includes pre-booked (up to 2 weeks in advance) and on the day appointments.

Appointments can be booked online or by calling us on 01580 880790. Phone lines open at 8am. For further information on booking online, visit our Online Services page.

We can also offer evening appointments from 6.30pm to 8pm on Tuesdays at Oldwood Surgery; Wednesdays at Battle Health Centre; and Thursdays at Battle Health Centre as part of the government initiative to give patients Extended Access to appointments. These appointments must be booked in advance. Our GP colleagues in Hastings & Rother are providing our Extended Access service for Monday and Friday evenings 6.30pm to 8pm; Saturday mornings; and Sunday mornings by phone. If you need to be seen at these times, contact our reception team and they will tell you what appointments are available and at which GP surgery. You will be asked to give your consent for their GP to access your medical records.

When you call to book your appointment we endeavour to ensure that you are seen at your preferred location but this is not always possible. If you need to be seen on the same day we will offer you the first available appointment which could be at either location.

Our standard appointment time is 10 minutes but we can offer longer appointments, please ask at the time of booking. Please Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen as each patient needs a separate appointment.

If you have more than one problem that you would like to discuss during your appointment, please highlight this to the GP at the start of your appointment. Whilst the GP may not be able to deal with them all in a single, ten minute appointment, it will help them make a safe and effective plan for how these problems are prioritised and managed.

Please let us know if you would like someone to accompany you during an examination or if you require a private room to discuss any matters. You may choose to have a friend or relative present or ask the practice to provide a chaperone. Please ask in advance so we can arrange this for you.

Please respect other patients and be on time for your appointment. Should you need to cancel, let us know as early as possible so the time slot can be made available to another patient.

The surgery operates a non-attendance policy, as well as a late attendance policy, which means if you do not arrive at all or you arrive too late to be seen, we will write to you about the defaulted appointment.  In exceptional circumstances, due to consistent no-attendance, you might be asked to register with an alternative practice.

Telephone Consultations

These can be arranged, please phone either surgery for advice.

You can have a telephone consultation with a doctor. Please call us for advice. The doctor will call you back at an agreed time on the telephone number you have provided.
